Dear Verde Parents:
How did we get to the last three weeks of school already!? I hope you are all making fun plans for the summer. Along with puppy antics and visiting grandchildren, I will be taking the Orton-Gillingham reading training in the Bay Area this summer. I look forward to learning more about incorporating their multi-sensory strategies into our existing reading curriculum.
Here are some important items for the end of the school year:
- I still need a home for either the Gecko or the frogs. The Dabadie Family has generously offered to take one or the other. Neither animal takes much work and can be left for long weekends without a problem. If your child is going to Upper Elementary next year, itβs still okay to volunteer! Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated!
- Park Day! The Upper Elementary children have invited the Lower Elementary children to Park Day on Tuesday, May 30. We will all walk over to the park for a good portion of the day for activities and free play. Hot lunch will be brought to the park for those who take hot lunch. Please watch the Tuesday Bulletin for more details.
- Yogurt! I would love to treat the third-year students to a yogurt dessert across the street at the local yogurt shop. No need for money β we will walk over after reading time on Wednesday, May 31st for a sweet treat to celebrate our three years together!
- Cabana Club! On the last day of school, Friday, June 2nd, we will be going to the Cabana Club north for a pool party! This is always a wonderful, fun and relaxing time with the children. You are invited to this party (no siblings, though), if you are interested. We will also need drivers to help transport those children whose parents cannot attend. Please see the Tuesday bulletin for details and links. The details will explain about the permission slips and waivers required for everyone who will be attending.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Patty
