Passing Notes: A Sweet Goodbye

We are a bit weepy over here upon reading this sweet letter from a longtime family whose youngest child just graduated:

Hi Bergamo family,

It is a bittersweet moment now, Ethan has already graduated from elementary school this week. It is hard to believe today is the last day of this school year and is also the last day for us at Bergamo. We are so thankful for all the wonderful times we had at Bergamo the last 12 years. It seems just like yesterday that Katelyn was enrolled into the Primary program and Ethan was enrolled into the Toddler program; where have the last 12 years gone?! Both Kate and Ethan have spent the last 12 school years with Bergamo, we have enjoyed every single moment and stage here, all the super friendly staff and great teachers, especially a big thanks to Pam and Matt. I remember Matt used to be around the front desk area to greet us in every morning, then later on was Ski and Meida.

From the beginning was the Sign-In sheet every morning for dropping them off, then took them into the class rooms for Lower Elm, then just dropped them off at the gate for Upper Elm, then they were just saying “Bye, Mom” the last couple of years. It was kind of sad but it was great for watching them grow up from a little, little person to a young adult (a troubled teenager) now.

It’s weird knowing we are leaving this family now, but even though we are not attending Bergamo anymore, I believe we will always be part of this family. Since the kids started at MCD and then Bergamo, both Kate and Ethan have had so many wonderful teachers from the past years, from Ms. Delya, Ms. Maria, Ms. Lily, Ms. Alyssa, Ms. Lesley, Ms. MaryAnn, Ms. Anastasia, and Ms. Aimee. Plus so many of the great teacher’s assistants. Thanks for guiding them, inspiring them, making them who they are today, and thanks for being so patient with them. Today, they are so proud of their cursive hand writing that they have learned from Bergamo, only Montessori children know how to write Cursive these days.

Both Minh and I are glad that we made the decision for sending the kids to Bergamo 12 years ago, even though the tuition was a little bit pricey, but we have never regretted, we could not have asked for a better place for our kids to grow and learn. Bergamo Montessori School, our children are blessed to have you in their lives and we feel so lucky that our kids were given such a strong foundation for learning.

Bergamo is a great place for children, and all of you guys are so amazing.

Thank you very much again and have a great summer !
