Hi Arancia Families,
It was so wonderful meeting the new families and seeing the excited faces of the children last week. Their excitement continued into their first week and already we are seeing some beautiful collaboration and connection among the children.
The new children received their first great lesson yesterday and are immersing themselves in the discoveries of our universe and other areas of our classroom. Most notably we have a few plant and animal research projects emerging, volcano and states of matter explorations, cursive and story writing practice, and refreshers in math. In the coming weeks we will continue to unfold the subjects of biology, history, math and language.
Our community has already expressed a great deal of care, consideration, and grace for the elements of our classroom; living and non-living. The children are orientating themselves to the changes and continue to discover the resources available to them in our classroom. I am impressed with their independence and willingness to try new things. It is indeed going to be a fun, inspiring year!
Please come find me at the ice cream social tomorrow night at 6:30pm at Marriott Park. I will be handing out your packets (if you were not at new parent night last Thursday) and will be there to enjoy the ice cream with you and answer any questions you have.
I am enjoying this year so much already and can’t wait to discover what our classroom has to offer!
Take care and see you tomorrow.
P.S. Yesterday I told the children that I am expecting our second child in January. They were so excited to hear the news!! More information on my leave to come, but for now I wanted to let you know that your children are aware of it!
