Hi Arancia Families,
Thank you to all that came to our Green Eggs and Ham play! It was so much fun to share with you the hard work we put into the production. The children did a fantastic job, and every single one had an important job, whether they were in the play or not. How neat! Ski is working on editing pictures and the video. Stay tuned for those!
The details of our the last two weeks this school year are as follows:
This week we will have a normal work flow. We will be focusing on finishing up our work and brainstorming fun ways to practice repetitive concepts (math facts, reading, research) in the summer.
Thursday, May 24th: Come join us at the Open House from 6:30-8pm! We will have light snacks offered in the lower elementary classrooms.
Tuesday, May 29th: This will be our last full day of work! We will also finish up our last birthday celebration of the school year – Steven! Our “Joey” in the play 🙂
Wednesday, May 30th: Marrone students organized “Park Day” to be held at Marriot Park from 8:30am-2pm. Please make sure your child has sunscreen and lunch for the day. If they typically get pizza, hot lunch will be brought to the park for them. In the afternoon, I will be bringing the third years for our yogurt tradition across the street. They have been anticipating this! We will also be cleaning out lockers and cubbies this day and Thursday, so feel free to send bags for your child to bring things home in.
Thursday, May 31st: We are going to the Cabana Club South from 10am-1pm, and parents are encouraged to come! We ask that you please do not bring siblings as this is a lower elementary celebration. This is a different location than previous years, so take note. We will be sending home a waiver form on Monday for you to sign and return with $10 per child for admission by Friday. We are also looking for drivers, and need enough drivers to get everyone to and from the Cabana Club South. If you would like to drive, either just your child or other children, please email me right away so we can count you in. If you are driving other children check with Betty before Friday to see if you have all of the necessary paperwork in.
Friday, June 1st: This will be a half day, ending at noon. Extended care will be provided. We will celebrate all the children who are making a transition in our school: primary to Lower El, Lower El to Upper El and those who are graduating to adolescence. The 6th graders will be delivering speeches to our community. We will start at 10:30 and will be finished by noon. Parents of 3rd graders please plan to attend! Regardless of when we are done with graduation, carline will be at noon and those not in carline will head to extended care.
So much to do, so little time! I’m looking forward to celebrating our last two weeks in different ways with you all!
Have a great week!
