Meet the Music Maker!

Brian LaTour is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and educator.

He has created original compositions for plays, television, film, radio, and online media including work for Apple, The Backstreet Boys, PBS, BCK WLD, and Sinagtala Productions. He has collaborated and shared the stage with many greats including Wayne Wallace, Pete Escovedo, Mic Gillette, Mike Johnston, and Harley White Sr.

Brian has traveled and performed in five different countries throughout Europe with his wife and daughters in their family band, and has been featured on radio programs in Berlin, Germany, and locally for Capital Public Radio.

He has taught music classes for The Sacramento Ballet, and was most recently a guest accompanist at The Official School of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York.

Brian is currently a teacher and music director for the award winning music ensemble at George Washington Carver High School, and he has also created and implemented programs to provide free of cost music classes in underserved communities through the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission.

He has taught music for Bergamo Montessori School and Woodland Montessori School for the past thirteen years, offering lessons in piano, guitar, double bass cello, electric bass, drum set, and Latin Percussion – including congas, timbales, and bongo.

Brian adheres strongly to the Montessori pedagogical approach of student led learning and has worked to create a strong community of young musicians who are able to approach their craft with creativity, discipline, confidence, and cooperation.
