The children are diligently practicing for the play in spite of my regular interruptions with offers of new lessons and reminders to follow-up with old lessons.
Teni, Maveric, and Alan presented the much anticipated “World’s Largest Mammals” session. The children were impressed with the visuals they created as well as the facts they chose to share.
I offered a lesson on Confucius today. It resulted in a free-ranging discussion on everything from aphorisms to how we honor our deceased relatives. If some of your children have a sudden interest in death rituals, you’ll know why.
Bob Warren spoke to the children today about his father, Chief Justice Earl Warren. Some of the highlights of the discussion included: why Earl Warren was such a strong advocate of the Miranda Rights; how he was nominated to the Supreme Court; and his conviction that a unanimous decision was needed in the Brown vs. the Board of Education case.
