The Blu Room was delighted to welcome student Tatsuo’s grandmother, who shared a special interactive presentation of her cello with the children!
Jane, who has played with the Dayton Philharmonic for 40 years, played several different musical styles, and accompanied us as we sang along with familiar songs.
Children plucked the strings and felt the vibrations resonating in the body of the cello. Later in the day, several older children wrote the parts of the cello with the movable alphabet, and then illustrated their writing work with watercolors and oil pastels.
