Here is the plan for Thursday:
4:30 p.m. Load up sets, props, and children at Bergamo (if you are helping with sets).
5 p.m. Children arrive IN COSTUME with props and sets.
5:10 p.m. Rehearsal on the stage. Parents may grab a snack for your child or grab a cup of coffee while the children are rehearsing (the children and I would prefer that you see the final product and not the rehearsal). I may need one or two volunteers to stay and help, though.
(Editor’s note: There are several great restaurants in close proximity (some in walking distance) to the theater: Real Pie Company, Noodles to Thai For, Cafe Dantorels, and Taqueria Maya. There is also a lovely park behind the theater if you have other children that might want to run and play during rehearsal.)
6:10 – 6:30 Children have a snack or light dinner at the theater (we’ll find a spot on the grounds). We will need parent supervision during this time.
6:30 – 7:00 The production! Ski will videotape the production and make it available to you, but it would be great if we could have one backup video. If you have a tripod and are willing/able to do this for us, that would be great. Please let me know if this is something you are interested in. I really want you to be able to enjoy the production and not feel the need to record it.
7:00 – 8:00 Clean up. We need to take all props and sets out of the theater. Sets can be thrown out, but props should either be taken home that night or taken to school the next day.
8:00 – ? Meet at Gunther’s for ice cream!
Friday – Transition Ceremony
I know that the children will be tired the next day, but it is VERY important that all of the children attend school on Friday. They are performing for the Transition Ceremony. The ceremony begins at 10:30 on the Elementary playground. All third-year parents and family members are invited to watch their child transition to Upper Elementary. It is a half-day of school on Friday, so the children will be dismissed at noon. There will be childcare in the afternoon ending at the usual time, so you may pick up your child anytime after noon on Friday.
This should be a fun and very busy week! The children will take home their work on Thursday, so if you could send a large grocery bag to school with your child, that would be very helpful!
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
