Although we are missing Chef Sylvia greatly, it has been a great experience for our toddlers to help set up their lunches.
As a parent who has to pack a lunch every morning with my son, I understand the struggle. Where do we begin when it comes to making lunch? What are some things we can pack that are effortless and not time consuming? What are some healthy options?
I would suggest leftovers! You will be surprised at the things children struggle to eat at home but enjoy at school when they see others eating it. We have great conversations around what others have on their plates, and the children are always offering a bit to friends. Fruit is also a good option and lots of it! I think most of the children can live on fruit alone! The children also enjoy anything you can dip in hummus, which includes carrots, cucumbers, and pretzels to name a few options.
Applesauce and yogurt are also a fan favorite. Fruit bars (that are nut free), Sunbutter, or cream cheese sandwiches, quesadillas, and everyone loves mac and cheese!
I hope this helps with packing lunch in the future.
