Sylvia has been working with the Hot Lunch program for only a week, and we’re already smitten! She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in the kitchen, and we can’t wait to (taste!) the positive changes in our Hot Lunch Program that will take place under her expertise.
Sylvia attended culinary school at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. She also attended culinary school in Trinidad, where she was born. Sylvia owned a restaurant in Trinidad, as well as a catering business. Here in California, she has catered for the likes of UC Davis and Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Sylvia was featured in the Summer 2010 edition of Edible Sacramento Magazine for her longterm work in the kitchen at FamiliesFirst in Davis.

You and your children can look forward to a rotating – each week will be different! – menu of healthy, wholesome, but still tempting foods. Sylvia will be creating each meal from scratch!
