The amazing teachers

The teachers! Miriam, Delya, Martha, Joanna, and assistants (especially Sophia) have all been amazing. One of the things that really drew us into MCD originally was the excellent student-teacher ratio. It seems like that ratio is in the process of changing and 3:1 in the toddler isn't always maintained. 41+ kids in the primary classroom seems like a lot as well. The sizeable annual tuition increases have been worth it for the teachers + Martha and to keep the ratios low but it seems like that might no longer be the case with the recent reorganization of assistants.

There is simply no place like Montessori Country Day — and saying goodbye is the hardest thing we've done. We are a two-daughter Montessori Country Day family, and as we approach our final year here with our youngest graduating, I find myself searching for words that can do this place justice. I'm not sure they exist. Our older daughter graduated in 2023, and we have watched both of our girls grow into themselves within these walls — curious, grounded, kind, and confident. That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because of a school culture so carefully tended, so genuinely human, that it cannot be replicated anywhere else. We know this firsthand, with our other child now attending Bergamo. It's a wonderful school — and still, Montessori Country Day is in a category of its own. That culture begins and ends with School Director Martha. What she has built here is extraordinary — not just academically, but spiritually, in the truest sense of a community. She sets a tone of warmth, intention, and excellence that flows through every corner of this school. Whenever I think about what made these years so formative for our daughters, I think about her leadership first. And then there are the teachers. I want to name them, because they deserve to be named: Joanna, Laura, Delia, Mariam, Leti, Sophia, Jasmin, Martina — and every member of the incredible staff supporting them. These are not simply educators. They are people who have genuinely helped raise our children. Their tenure speaks for itself — the depth of skill, patience, and love they bring to their work is unmatched. They know each child as an individual. They celebrate who they are, not just what they can achieve. That kind of teaching leaves a mark on a child that lasts a lifetime. If I had one wish for this school, it would be that it continued through 7th grade — through 12th grade, even. I would keep our daughters here without a second thought. The transition out feels bittersweet in the deepest way, because we know we are leaving something genuinely irreplaceable. Martha and this extraordinary team have created something rare and beautiful. My greatest hope is that it stays exactly as it is — that the heart of this place is protected and preserved for every family who is lucky enough to find it.

All the teachers and staff are amazing. Our kids love school and are learning valuable skills both inside and outside the classroom. We could not be happier.

The teachers are the best! The leadership at the top who run the school I am not impressed by. They have taken so many mis steps. If this leadership decides to change the teachers at Montessori country day, the parents will make sure that endeavor schools feels the wrath of hell. Do not touch the teachers or you will feel it.

We absolutely LOVE MCD. Our son has thrived in the years he's been here, and we feel incredibly lucky to be a part of this community.
