A Glimpse into the Upper Elementary San Gabriel Community at BMS…

Sometimes I write a list of the lesson that were given so that you can get a glimpse into what’s been going on.  Each child has not received each of these lessons, nor have I listed them all.
Banned words for writing
Precision of measurement to the 16th of an inch
Renaming fractions
Adding and subtracting fractions with uncommon denominators
Double digit multiplication review
Long division review
Writing word problems with fractions
Powers of numbers (exponents)
Compound sentences
Adjective Classification
Symbolizing (grammar=parts of speech)
Magnetism
Atoms
Fibers, using the microscope
Drawing realistic animal bodies
Using a hammer
Lighting matches
Cooking
Digestion System
Making bar graphs
Faux calligraphy
How to choreograph for a play
Contractions
How to make various types of books
Starting a compost pile
Making pond water for microorganism research
Using the meditation space
Mass versus weight
How to make knitting needles
Weaving
All the nutrition science lessons you’ve already read about
Again, this isn’t all of them, just some that I thought you might be interested in.
Thank you for letting me guide your children through this stage in their lives; I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know each of them better everyday.
Wendy
